PTB designs compact 6 tons pallet truck

PTB Special Products recently designed a custom pallet truck for Huf Polska upon request. The Polish manufacturer turned to PTB for a tailor-made solution for transporting heavy injection molds.

Moving injection molds

Huf Polska serves the automotive industry with various car parts such as brackets, door handles, emblems and more. The production process requires the heavy injection molds to be moved through the factory hall. The pallet truck specifically made for this purpose optimizes this process.

Compact design

Huf asked PTB to make the truck as compact as possible, without compromising the desired capacity of 6,000 kilograms. PTB's developers shortened the regular chassis so that the desired maximum length of 2000 mm could be achieved. The length of the chassis had to remain within 800 mm so that the truck could be equipped with 1200 mm forks.

Pallets with injection molds

In addition to the chassis, the forks have also been adjusted. These are only 190mm wide and have an initial height of 90mm. The compact design of the forks is intended to carry pallets with injection molds.

Battery exchange system

Since the truck is operational during the day, it will be equipped with an ingenious battery exchange system. By installing this system in the factory hall, PTB guarantees optimal deployment of the truck. The machine can thus effortlessly change batteries and continue working again.
